I think at this point it's safe to say we're all sick of winter. I'm ready to bust out a bunch of cute open toe or cut-out shoes but let's be honest, here in Northeast Ohio, it's gonna be some time before that's possible. Ok ok, so we're left with the "problem" of STILL wearing the boots we've been trudging around in all winter…after all these months and all this snow, they're probably looking a little sad, worn and ready for some rest…so the question stands, how do we still rock our battled and bruised footwear during this seasonal transition? Give them a simple makeover! Yep, just a little something to tide you over till the weather shapes up. These boots were just looking a little blah to me so I snatched up some bold & bright laces from Jcrew. This was such a simple and easy way to add a pop of color and give these tired kicks new life. Of course, I also had to add a few jewelry elements just for fun. I popped on a tassel to the one while for the other I added some brass bars on tiny chain...nothing too match matchy ; ) What are some creative & fun fashion experiments you're doing to tide you over till the new season hits? Sometimes a simple switch is the best!

This green vintage dress is my absolute favorite thing to wear (yeah, it's wrinkly. welcome to my life). I got it from Revival in Akron for around $12. That shop makes me happy. I love that they are open later so I can pop in after a *tough* day of work to check out what new things they have. Retail therapy for sure. This plaid blanket is another wonderful vintage find at the Hartville Flea Market. The colorful statement necklace is from Kate Spade Saturday. Now the boots, those are going to be another post...those are a vintage find that I've updated to current style. I had a lot of fun with that DIY and will post soon!

You're going to be seeing a lot of white ankle boots with black accents this fall. I've been seaching for some quality ones for a decent price...honestly, I figured it'd never happen. Luckily, I stumbled upon these at Missguided. I paired them with a pink floral sock from Jcrew. The faux leather Zara shorts are a wardrobe staple. I love the pockets and the elastic waist...so comfy! Dress them up, dress them down, your choice. The button up shirt was only $2 at American Cancer Society Discovery Shop - Akron. Now, about the holographic animal thing...it's a unicorn clutch! (trending!trending!trending!) So fun! You can find this guy over at Choies.

I heard my childhood calling with the current splatter paint trend...so I flung some paint around.
....Ok, there was a little more intention involved than just flinging paint...a design was in mind.
First off, as always, I picked my colors and pick them wisely. I wanted to keep it more of a high-end adultish feel than the classic splatter paint, so I chose neutral colors, grays and metallic gold. Also I didn't want to cover the whole boot in the mess, that would've been intense (bad intense)...so I tried to keep the paint mainly in the front toe area.
These boots already had amazing textural detail with the weaved top and the studded wrap with buckles...but with the splatter added, it just gives them that extra character I was looking for.
Hmmm...what else can I cleverly fling paint at?
