Akron Ohio Fashion - ombre dress
ZeroUV - head scarf - statement necklace - street style
Akron Ohio Fashion - downtown Akron - street style
UrbanOG ombre dress - geometric tights

I've been gushing over this Ombre Popsicle Spell Dress from UrbanOG. This bodycon midi dress would be super cute to wear for a night out as is with simple accessories...but I, of course, had to uniquely style it. I paired it with some loud patterned tights and a polka dot head scarf. These funky accessories make this dress more of a casual street style. The white and black accents also add another graphic punch to this look. Check out more outfit details below!

bright colors - Zero UV - statement necklace

geometric statement necklace

geometric necklace - blanket sweater

Akron, Ohio Fashion - Bright Winter
I know what you're thinking, "ANOTHER oversized sweater?!?"
Yep, yep & yep. This vintage beauty has been eyed at a vintage shop for months (finally got it!)... It's so incredibly soft and warm...perfect for Ohio winters. I highly recommend wearing anything blanket like...you've just got to try it!
Sometimes I have to keep it bright & fun during this long, cold, gray drab time. This outfit, I paired the bright vintage sweater with new trendy pieces. I love the mix of the plaid and the polka dot pants...anytime I can mix different sizes of simple patterns, I'm in. The geometric necklace adds another interesting touch of bold shapes and multiple colors.

MY CLOSET: Winter Black & White Pattern Mixer

black & white pattern mix - polkadot pants
ohio winter fashion - fringe and patterns
oversized patterned sweater - zara polkadot pants
Mix up an outfit by wearing different patterns! I kept with a monochrome black & white look... with patterns that vary in scale. I have a larger busier print on top and a smaller repetitive print for the bottoms. Be bold, don't be afraid to have fun and experiment. These polkadot pants from Zara are my favorite right now...they are my go-to piece to add some variety to an outfit.

DIY sequin polka dot sweater

DIY sequin sweater
DIY sequin polka dot sweater - upcycle project
DIY sequin polka dot sweater - upcycle project

Have any old sweaters that are just taking up drawer space? This cardigan was a little too plain for me, the style isn't anything special so I decided it was time for it to go...NO wait!...it was time for me to get creative and turn it into a trending look. Glam it up!
I've been waiting to do a patterned piece with sequins for a while. So glad I chose this. It's such an easy DIY with fabulous results!

You'll need:
Sequin Ribbon (as seen above)
Felt circles (you can buy them precut or cut your own circles)
Fabric Glue

Simply glue the sequin strand down while winding it around the felt circle. I starting from the center, made sure the sequins slightly overlapped so it covered the entire felt.
Once you have as many sequin dots as you'd like, you can start figuring placement on your sweater. I played a bit with this, trying to get the dots a good spacing from one another. Then either glue them down with the fabric glue or sew them on. I decided to glue mine.
I love the results! So glam!

Akron Ohio fashion - holographic unicorn clutch
white ankle boots with black accent - Missguided

Akron Ohio fashion - rooftop

holographic unicorn clutch
You're going to be seeing a lot of white ankle boots with black accents this fall. I've been seaching for some quality ones for a decent price...honestly, I figured it'd never happen. Luckily, I stumbled upon these at Missguided. I paired them with a pink floral sock from Jcrew. The faux leather Zara shorts are a wardrobe staple. I love the pockets and the elastic waist...so comfy! Dress them up, dress them down, your choice. The button up shirt was only $2 at American Cancer Society Discovery Shop - Akron. Now, about the holographic animal thing...it's a unicorn clutch! (trending!trending!trending!) So fun! You can find this guy over at Choies.

polka dot top & leopard pants - statement cuff

Mixing prints and patterns, how can you say no? There's nothing wrong with a little visual textural overload. The key is to just mix different sizes of patterns. As far as colors, for this outfit I stuck with neutrals (I think I'm going to start phasing out my bright colors)....yep, mixed brown and black. Also, I love this top, just not on me...I guess it's not so flattering on a curveless body that looks as if it should belong to a 12 year old boy. ; )
