Cleveland Akron Fashion - ruffled hi lo bellbottoms

Nastygal statement body chain necklace
Cleveland / Akron street style fashion
Nasty gal / Jeffrey Campbell Booties
Zara woven tassel bag - ruffled hi low bellbottoms

Hey guys, it's been a minute...but finally a new outfit post! It's been busy with the business (check out all the Glam & Grace goods here) and moving back to my house in Akron.
As you can tell, I'm still all about that black and white game. Just know I'm always either covered in coffee stains on the white or lint on the black. There's no getting around it, it's who I am as a person.
These bellbottom pants from Zara are so unique with their hi-low hem. I mean, yeah...sometimes they're hard to walk in and I trip but that's just the price you pay for awesome pants. I'm looking forward to pairing them with chunky sweaters for fall. Also, can we talk about these Jeffrey Campbells? Silver details, straps & lucite heels...whoa. I'm bummed that it's getting colder now and I wont be able to wear them soon. More outfit details below and hopefully more looks coming soon.

Cleveland Ohio fashion - Zara ripped jeans
Bonlook Eclipse Glasses

Trying to transition into spring over here! Let me tell you, it's been a crazy couple of months since launching the Glam & Grace makeup line. Never have I more desired (& maintained) a wardrobe full of simple pieces I can throw on. The idea of a minimal color palette & not a lot of "necessary" layering has made finding something to wear thoughtless and quick. I am so annoyed when I have to wear a certain tank under a certain top...so I rid myself of all those type of styles. Now, my look is already defined when I purchase the items in my wardrobe so it makes getting dressed every day easy. Of course, you know I like to have my statement accessories to mix it up.
Versatile, mix & match is necessary for the busy girl boss who's getting 'ish done

Cleveland Ohio fashion - street style

Cleveland Fashion Blogger - Asos - NastyGal - Zara

NastyGal Statement Necklace - Laka Collar Body Chain

Rusts, browns, mauves...all the muted tones. But of course, I wanna talk accessories...
It's all in the details. I believe that accessories make the outfit. They take you from plain Jane to polished. Ok, maybe not polished...they won't iron your wrinkled clothes or remove cat fur for you...but they add a level of uniqueness, style and completeness to your look.

The quality of the accessories are also something to consider and a big factor. It's the most important part of your look. You can be wearing a t-shirt or even a trash bag for that matter, paired with a great necklace and killer shoes? Boom! You're good to go & can pull anything off. And guys, I'm not saying to go off and buy expensive designer brands, that's definitely not the case. Go for quality designed items that will last.

PS: And i know you're asking, "hey what's up with the flowers growing out of your body?"
Well, I'm a little salty I haven't gotten to wear a floral crown this week so I'm trying to do my best to get by....which means adding floral illustrations to anything that I can. Hopefully another fresh flower DIY will be in the works ; )

Cleveland Ohio Fashion - Street Style

Guys! The struggle is real, Winter is lasting forever! Combat the cold with a little style creativity. All winter I've ditched my usual brights for a more neutral monochromatic looks. That doesn't mean an outfit has to be plain though. I played with bold patterns and chunky textures for this look & and topped it off with gold accents. I love the contrast and warmth the gold brings to this otherwise gray outfit. Since the tights are CLEARLY a statement maker, I paired them with the smaller stripe texture of the sweater. When mixing patterns always vary the size. If one is a statement maker, have another that's a little more subdued. Be bold & have fun!

Glam Casual style - layered

Glam Casual style - layered
One of the most important things to remember about style & fashion is to make it your own. Experiment with styles and be you. Just because you own a article of clothing that bursts of sequins, it doesn't mean you can only wear it for a formal & dressy occasion. In fact, the best outfits have a mix of dressy and casual elements. It adds variety and interest...and of course, FUN! Somewhere in our minds we get stuck on certain ideas and purposes. Here's a reminder that there are no rules! So let us mix and match to our hearts content.
I took a minimalist approach with this look, simple neutral color pallet, minimal jewelry and clean lines. I had grabbed this sequin dress for $15 and was dying for a chance to wear it. For going out to dinner, it's a little much...a little too glam and fancy. An easy fix is to throw on some layers and mix it with some casual pieces to tone down the dressy sparkle. I layered on a high-low twist top from Necessary Clothing. I simply love this oversize piece, it can go with anything. The over-the-knee boots and hat add another casual stylish element. It says "trendy" and tones down the glam of the dress. WIN! To top everything off, my fitted and clean line Zara coat really pulls the look together. Polished!

MY CLOSET: Faux Leather Holiday

Cleveland Fashion blogger
Sam Edelman Leopard wedge boots
Cleveland Ohio fashion
Zara Faux leather pants
trending - faux leather and oversized top
Tis the season to wear oversized tops & faux leather pants. Necessary Clothing has a variety of knit tops to add to your wardrobe, basic tops with a twist. I love their style with a high-low hem and a twist in the front which creates a beautiful oversized drape feel.

Be bold and try faux leather skinny pants. The high-end detailing of these drew me in, In this case, Zara does it right. All around, I encourage people to buy quality pieces but without overspending. This is definitely one of those times where you don't want to skimp. Wearing, cheap and poorly made faux leather items will make you look like you're...um, er...wearing a trash bag. You don't want to be a trash bag. So don't settle, quality always wins. It's always better to have few quality items than a closet full of poorly constructed, cheap clothing.

Winter Snow Boot Picks - Cleveland Ohio fashion blog
It's time to start thinking about Wintertime survival in Cleveland / Northeast Ohio. I understand that fashion takes a back seat when there's multiple inches of snow on the ground. That's when we put our normal trendy fashion boots to the side and break out some bad boys that can handle the job. Here are my top 3 picks for the most fashionable & functional snow boots out this season. Here are questions I asked myself & how I based my selections:

Functionality

Traction: type of sole & heel height. Will I be able to easily trample around town?...without falling?
Shaft Height & Warmth: are they tall enough to keep out snow? Will my feet freeze off?

Aesthetic

Style: Do these match my style & wardrobe? Will I put my city to shame by wearing these? (i.e. people who wear Ugs)
Quality: What type of material are they? How will they wear in snow and salt? Can they be easily cared for / cleaned?

Here are the links to check out these styles further!

Casual Street Style - Akron Ohio
NOTO wrap - Missguided studded hat
Here's a rainy day casual look I threw on last week. I wore basics with some rad statement accessories...great street style! These relaxed "combined" pants from Zara are my jam! They are half sweatpants, half denim. Weird, right?...but awesome.
The shawl from NOTO really topped off the casual clothing items. I love being able to drape on a patterned accessory...without it being a scarf around my neck. I have jewels to show...no room for a neck scarf! haha! The cool blues of my necklace and boots added the extra punch and color contrast I was looking for. The vintage earrings are from a great shop in Cuyahoga falls, The Hidden Pearl.
I love exploring local shops during my lunch break like NOTO and the Hidden Pearl. Anytime I can support people who love what they do, I'm game. If you're in Northeast Ohio, be sure to frequently shop at these boutiques.
