Fall Fields - casual maxi fashion style in Ohio
Zero UV - Vintage Inspired Laser Cut Metal Criss Cross Cat Eye Sunglasses
With all new adventures and new challenges in my life, I'm *actually* looking forward to fall and the change of seasons. That *never* happens...I'm not a chilly weather chick at all. Attempting to minimize my wardrobe along with all the color it contains will be 1 of many exciting challenges.

Here's another simple & favorite fall color palette, black and a warm brown. This look features a fabulous throw on dress by Staring at Stars. (Urban Outfitters carries a lot of pieces from this brand) It's casual and comfy yet so, so hip. The dress actually had short sleeves when I purchased it. (wasn't in love with that) A little snippy snippy easily took care of it and now it's styled in a way I love.

Also, these sunglasses tho...just look how rad they are. They're a vintage inspired pair with cutout metal frames from Zero UV. Those guys really feed to my unhealthy love of sunnies.

Akron Ohio Fashion - ombre dress
ZeroUV - head scarf - statement necklace - street style
Akron Ohio Fashion - downtown Akron - street style
UrbanOG ombre dress - geometric tights

I've been gushing over this Ombre Popsicle Spell Dress from UrbanOG. This bodycon midi dress would be super cute to wear for a night out as is with simple accessories...but I, of course, had to uniquely style it. I paired it with some loud patterned tights and a polka dot head scarf. These funky accessories make this dress more of a casual street style. The white and black accents also add another graphic punch to this look. Check out more outfit details below!

Ooh la la! Such a glamorous outfit that also happens to be budget friendly...and who doesn't like a great deal?

The sleek & stylish dress is from Sammy Dress. Sammy Dress is an online retailer that offers the latest trends at low prices. This is my first experience with them and I must say I am quite pleased. This dress is so glam AND comfy at the same time. I love the sheer mesh cutout sections...such fun elements to a simple dress. The statement necklace is also from Sammy Dress. The spikes and geometric shapes add BOLDNESS to this look.

Akron Ohio Fashion - Stripes & Colorblocking

Choies Veil Beanie - Zero UV - Banyan Tree Cleveland

Fringe & Colorblock Bag

Sheik Shoes Woodgrain Ankle Boots

Nastygal Asymmetrical Stripe Skirt
This was such a fun look to put together. I love the "harsh" graphic black and white stripes with the mix of warm tan colors. Also the color blocking of the cropped top, hat and cape added unique interest to this outfit. Lots and Lots of blocking going on. Overall it's such a cool mix of sections of color and line. (Please don't mind all this designer talk coming out of me) AND, can you PLEASE check out THOSE SHOES! Oh my, I love these woodgrain ankle boots! They are a great way to add a neutral pattern to an outfit.

MY CLOSET: Bright Winter

bright colors - Zero UV - statement necklace

geometric statement necklace

geometric necklace - blanket sweater

Akron, Ohio Fashion - Bright Winter
I know what you're thinking, "ANOTHER oversized sweater?!?"
Yep, yep & yep. This vintage beauty has been eyed at a vintage shop for months (finally got it!)... It's so incredibly soft and warm...perfect for Ohio winters. I highly recommend wearing anything blanket like...you've just got to try it!
Sometimes I have to keep it bright & fun during this long, cold, gray drab time. This outfit, I paired the bright vintage sweater with new trendy pieces. I love the mix of the plaid and the polka dot pants...anytime I can mix different sizes of simple patterns, I'm in. The geometric necklace adds another interesting touch of bold shapes and multiple colors.

ZeroUV sunglasses - earrings, The Hidden Pearl, Cuyahoga Falls

vintage style - Akron Ohio Fashion

Ohio handmade jewelry - Akron fashion

Casual Street Style - Akron Ohio
NOTO wrap - Missguided studded hat
Here's a rainy day casual look I threw on last week. I wore basics with some rad statement accessories...great street style! These relaxed "combined" pants from Zara are my jam! They are half sweatpants, half denim. Weird, right?...but awesome.
The shawl from NOTO really topped off the casual clothing items. I love being able to drape on a patterned accessory...without it being a scarf around my neck. I have jewels to show...no room for a neck scarf! haha! The cool blues of my necklace and boots added the extra punch and color contrast I was looking for. The vintage earrings are from a great shop in Cuyahoga falls, The Hidden Pearl.
I love exploring local shops during my lunch break like NOTO and the Hidden Pearl. Anytime I can support people who love what they do, I'm game. If you're in Northeast Ohio, be sure to frequently shop at these boutiques.

MY CLOSET: Winter Black & White Pattern Mixer

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

black & white pattern mix - polkadot pants
ohio winter fashion - fringe and patterns
oversized patterned sweater - zara polkadot pants
Mix up an outfit by wearing different patterns! I kept with a monochrome black & white look... with patterns that vary in scale. I have a larger busier print on top and a smaller repetitive print for the bottoms. Be bold, don't be afraid to have fun and experiment. These polkadot pants from Zara are my favorite right now...they are my go-to piece to add some variety to an outfit.
