Little Birdie Design Studio Scarf - handmade Akron

vintage upcycled fringe boots - handmade Akron, Ohio

Fringe fashion - Glendale Steps Akron Ohio

I was actually not intentional with this fringe overload. It just happened. (no shame)
My favorite item from this look is the handmade hanky scarf from Little Birdie Design Studio. I've gotten to hang with Little Birdie numerous times at various art events since 2011. I love all of her designs! This scarf, I finally bought at this past NOTO fashion show and it's added some serious style to my summer wardrobe. Note, that it's red and I paired it with the pink ombre dress, only a crazy person would do that...so glad i'm that person.
Also, check it, I have a new pair Vintage up cycled boots available. They're a size 8.5 but fyi, I'm a 7 and I was able to wear them comfortably for this shoot. They're a lovely statement piece to add to your Summer to Fall style transition.

Akron Ohio Fashion - ombre dress
ZeroUV - head scarf - statement necklace - street style
Akron Ohio Fashion - downtown Akron - street style
UrbanOG ombre dress - geometric tights

I've been gushing over this Ombre Popsicle Spell Dress from UrbanOG. This bodycon midi dress would be super cute to wear for a night out as is with simple accessories...but I, of course, had to uniquely style it. I paired it with some loud patterned tights and a polka dot head scarf. These funky accessories make this dress more of a casual street style. The white and black accents also add another graphic punch to this look. Check out more outfit details below!

DIY Dip Dye Bleach Denim Jeans

Denim Transformation Series:

Summer heat = needing more shorts! I have tons of old jeans so I’m turning them into cutoffs…with a twist!
—————————————————————————————————————

Here is another pair of shorts in my denim transformation series. I turned a pair of outdated JCrew Matchstick jeans into bleach dip dyed shorts.

Ok here we go...I have bleach in my possession! Let's be honest, I'm frightened of it. I once had a whole load of laundry ruined from the remnants of it while using a shared washing machine. GAH!

In the first bucket, I mixed half water, half bleach. How full you want to fill it is up to you. (You'd better believe I'm wearing gloves, I don't want that stuff to touch me.) I hung the shorts by their beltloops with my handy heavy duty design ruler. Suspended by the top of the bucket, I dipped the bottom of the shorts into the bleach and sat there waiting/watching like a little kid.
Ok bleach, do you thing!
I patiently waited a little over an hour and took them out and immediately put them in a bucket of half vinegar, half water. This acts as a stop bath. Bleach, you will not eat through my clothes.

After 20 minutes, I took the shorts out of the vinegar solution and rinsed them in water...then on the the washing machine! I washed them a few times to try to get out the bleach smell. After all the hype about hating bleach, I'm now a little more comfortable with it. Plans are in the works for the next bleach project!
